Shannon Noll - Live in Concert - Wednesday 18 January - Australian singing star Shannon Noll launches the Queensland leg of his national tour in Ipswich with a concert featuring songs from his latest album ‘Lift'. Following his 2004 sell-out performance in Ipswich, this high energy event features special guest ‘Dan England'. John Rowles 40th Anniversary Concert - Friday 10 March - Enjoy the celebration of ‘JA-AR', the legend now known as ‘John Rowles' in a showcase of hits and memories. This anniversary ‘Up Close and Personal' tour to Ipswich features dancers, guest singers and a presentation of famous friends and family. Born in New Zealand, John now has almost 20 albums to his credit and fans worldwide. Barney's Beach Party - Monday 13 March - A fabulous live stage show for the whole family with Barney, the world's most fun-loving dinosaur and two of his favourite friends Baby Bop and BJ. Don't miss seeing one of the world's most popular children's television characters live in stage. The Irish Spectacular - featuring ‘The Irish Tenors' -Wednesday 15 March - A fabulous night of traditional Irish entertainment, featuring successful trio ‘The Irish Tenors' (Danny Boy, When Irish Eyes Are Smiling), spectacular Irish Riverdancers, musicians and much more. Get set for an unforgettable night of singing, music, dancing and good old-fashioned Irish fun. Memories of Theatre Royal - Thursday 16 March - Popular Aussie entertainer ‘Lucky Grills' joins Patti Allen and friends for a special variety show focusing on memories of Theatre Royal. ‘Vaudeville entertainment at its best' with musical fun, comedy sketches and sing-alongs. Creche and Burn - Saturday 18 March - A laugh-a-minute comedy set in a childcare centre, this fabulous Australian play with a huge heart wowed La Boite Theatre audiences at its Brisbane premiere in 2005 and is now on the road to regional centres. A situation comedy about stressed-out parenting, it takes every possible child raising disaster and turns them on their head. By Request!- by Strictly Singing - Thursday 23 March - Formerly known as ‘Singing Brisbane', this wonderfully talented music group kicks off its 2006 Ipswich program of concerts with a sensational mix of favourite songs regularly requested by audiences. Ballads, operetta, stage songs and more ensure there is truly something for everyone. Play School - Friday 24 March - Australia's most successful regular television program for pre-school children - is brought to life on stage in this special family-friendly concert. Popular presenters will offer stories, songs and activities in an interactive format certain to delight the little ones. Hosted by West Moreton Anglican Kindergarten.
It's a Dad Thing - Thursday 30 March - If you love a good laugh, you'll love this unique collection of comedy sketches, songs and monologues interpreting different men's experiences of fatherhood. This brilliant stage show is described as chaotic, fun, shocking and truthful - pretty much like family life itself! Mums and dads will enjoy this one. Double Act - Friday 31 March - Well-known television actress Tina Bursill (Skyways, Prisoner) stars in this hilariously funny play. A once happily married couple unexpectedly run into each other at a restaurant after their divorce. The relationship somehow takes off again ... but how long will it last? Ipswich Orpheus Chorale Celebrity Concert - Friday 7 April - The magnificent full chorus of the Ipswich Orpheus Chorale conducted by Major Neville Hammond (ret) with special guests the Australian Army Band, Brisbane and more. Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir Concert - Sunday 9 April - Inspiring harmonies and massed voices of the Blackstone Ipswich Cambrian Choir, Cambrian Youth Choir and Junior Cambrian Choir. Ye Olde Palais Royale - Ipswich Seniors Concert - Wednesday 26 April - A concert by Ipswich seniors for Ipswich seniors, this event takes a nostalgic trip back in time to the laughter, song and merriment of the Olde Palais Royale in Ipswich. Come along and join in some good, old-fashioned musical fun! Proudly supported by Ipswich City Council. Don Giovanni - Co-Opera - Thursday 27 April - Co-Opera presents Mozart's classical masterpiece in a cabaret-style, opera-in-the-round format. Combining a serious subject matter with great comic effect, Don Giovanni is said to contain some of the loveliest solos and most technically florid arias in the entire world. Ipswich International Tattoo - Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 April - Ipswich Thistle Pipe Band in conjunction with Ipswich City Council and the Ipswich Festival proudly presents the third annual Ipswich International Tattoo. Featuring massed pipes and drums, Irish and Highland dancers, solo singers, Australia's Federation Precision Drill Team and much more! Mothers Day Concert - Saturday 6 May - A special tribute to all mothers by the Cambrian Youth Choir with an afternoon of pleasant songs and music. Advanced Screening - by Markwell Presents - 9, 10 & 12 May - Happy endings only happen in the movies... or do they? Advanced Screening, now in its 4th season, is a sharp and satirical performance event, combining live theatre and the magic of the big screen, and featuring talented young performers from Ipswich's secondary schools. Pinocchio - Saturday 22 July - A fantastic live theatre event for young and old to enjoy, featuring the timeless tale of Pinocchio the puppet and Geppetto the lonely carver of wood. Swing's the Thing - Tuesday 25 July - An Ipswich Seniors Concert in conjunction with the Allan Brown Big Band. The City's talented Ipswich Seniors Concert Group pay tribute to the swing era in this toe-tapping concert event. Proudly supported by Ipswich City Council.

Steven Moore Salutes Ipswich - Sunday 27 August - Conductor of the Blackstone-Ipswich Cambrian Choir, Steven Moore, salutes Ipswich in his final concert for the City before leaving to study music overseas. An Audience with Charles ‘Bud' Tingwell - Friday 1 September - A very special event that brings together both star and audience in a conversation format. Bud is joined onstage by an interviewer who asks him questions about his screen/stage career and then invites the audience to ask their own questions. Also includes a screening of the critically-acclaimed short film "Tulip", starring Bud.

After a sell-out concert in Ipswich in 2005, Herman's Hermit's are coming back to Civic Hall in 2006. City of Ipswich Variety Concert - Saturday 4 November - Featuring the Blenders, Miner Chords, highly acclaimed New Zealand group ‘Bout 8' and The Springfield College Highland Dancers. Japanese Bamboo Flute Music Concert - Saturday 18 November - A Japanese music concert featuring professional musician Neptune Kaizan playing the traditional bamboo flute. The event includes original songs such as ‘Blue and Blue' in honour of Blue Care, and ‘Mango" after the famous Queensland fruit. Lipman Harp Duo - Friday 8 December - Sebastien Lipman (France) and Sayo Lipman (Japan) present your favourite Christmas Carols, played by angelic harps. The true sound of Christmas is coming to town! Sing a Song of Christmas - by Strictly Singing - Saturday 16 December - A fine selection of Yuletide songs and carols to brighten your festive season. Marvellous solos, thrilling quartets and some for the audience to sing-along with too!
