Australian Tour 2008

Internationally acclaimed Canadian guitarist/singer-songwriter Harry Manx comes to Ipswich as part of his fifth Australian tour.  Dubbed an "essential link" between the music of East and West, his unique sound is bewitching and deliciously addictive to listen to.  Blend Indian folk melodies with slide guitar blues, add a sprinkle of gospel and some compelling grooves and you'll get Manx's unique "mysticssippi" flavour.

It's hard to resist, easy to digest and keeps audiences coming back for more.

Half a million Australian women can't be wrong!  That's the number who have seen this hilarious show over the last two and a half years - and they love it!  So much so, many of them have come back time and time again to join with their sisters in this 90-minute, one act laugh-a-thon!

Perhaps the attraction is the songs that everyone grew up with - The Great Pretender, Only You, The Lion Sleeps Tonight, Stand by Your Man, I Will Survive and twenty more - all sung with gusto and all with their ‘new' lyrics.  Or maybe it's the realisation that there is a wonderful life waiting after ‘The Change'.

SHANNON NOLL TURNS IT UP WITH HIS BIGGEST TOUR IN TWO YEARS

S Noll

Sunday 6 July 7.30 pm

Earlybird tickets $37.50   Door Sales $40

Shannon Noll is going back on the road with the TURN IT UP Tour, his first major national run in two years.  The 17-date tour, which features support act Small Mercies, starts shortly after the release of "Everybody Needs A Little Help", the third single off his current platinum selling album, Turn It Up.

Following his successful trip to the USA where he was the New York ambassador for G'Day USA: Australia Week, the multi-platinum selling singer can't wait to hit the road and get back to his fans, making stops at cities in more than half the Australian territories. His June/July run is the first of a two-leg tour, with the second run planned for September/October.

Like he did with Lift, one of his most popular and successful hits, Shannon once again sends spirits soaring with his poignant lyrics and raw honesty on "Everybody Needs A Little Help."   "I wanted to get the edge that Lift had back in there, to say no matter what you're going through, it's OK. You don't have to do it alone," says Shannon.

Turn It Up, his third and current album, debuted at #3 on the ARIA albums chart. It has already produced one top 10 success with Loud, giving the boy from Condoblin a record-setting total of 10 consecutive top ten singles, including five #1s on the ARIA singles chart. Add his four ARIA award nominations and it's clear that in just a few short years the three-time running AVMA Best Male Artist has become one of Australia's most successful, iconic and best-loved performers. Tickets for the tour go on sale NOW!!.

10.30 am and 12.30 pm Monday 25 August 2008   SOLD OUT

All Tickets $8.00 "....as dinkum as the wattle, as true blue as the gum...it is the happiest compendium of song, dance, storytelling and vivid characters....all the larrikin whimsy of Mem Fox's story....it's a production of integrity and gusto!"
Sydney Sun-Herald

Based on Mem Fox's classic picture book, the stage production of Possum Magic has been stylishly embellished into a rollicking Australian musical - complete with lamingtons, pavlovas and vegemite sandwiches! Since the world premiere season in 1990, it has become the most successful Australian musical for children ever produced for the stage.

Possum Magic is the tender tale of baby possum Hush, made invisible by Grandma Poss in an effort to keep her safe from snakes.  The adventure begins when Grandma is unable to reverse the "bush magic" spell and both she and Hush set off across Australia to try to find the solution.

A work full of imagination, charm and humour, Possum Magic features larger than life-size puppets, original music and a cast of multi-talented performers.  First published in 1983, this national tour will celebrate 25 years of magic and is sure to be the highlight of Australian children's theatre for 2008!
